KYW Code of Behaviour
- In order to assure a high level of safety, campers must obey the youth leaders at all times;
- All campers must be supervised at all times;
- Intimidation (physical, emotional or any other kind) will not be tolerated;
- Knives and/or any such implements are forbidden on camp;
- Alcohol / drugs are not allowed on camp;
- Smoking is strictly forbidden on camp for anyone under the age of 18;
- Campers are not allowed off camp without the presence of a leader;
- No camper allowed in a bunkhouse other than their own;
- No boys are allowed in a girl’s bunkhouse; no girls are allowed in a boy’s bunkhouse;
- Vandalism will not be tolerated;
- Stealing will not be tolerated;
- The KYW cannot be held liable for any personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged on camp;
- Use of bad language will not be tolerated;
- No bullying or physical violence allowed in any form on camp;
- Any camper or leader found to be in possession of an illegal substance in the KYW shall be reported to An Garda Síochána;
- Every camper has the right to appeal a leader’s decision to the Senior Leader;
- Each camper shall pay a fee to travel to Knockadoon camp;
- Any camper who requires the use of prescribed medication must inform the Senior Leader and/or the Camp Medical Officer and it must be clearly stated on their medical form.
These are in accordance with the rules of the Knockadoon Camp with are to abide by all participants of the KYW. Failure to abide by these rules may result in early dismissal from the programme.
